EDITORIAL SERVICES faq...

How long will you take to read my work?

That depends upon the length of your manuscript and how quickly you need me to assess it. I can typically have work read in about 1-2 weeks.

Can you provide an assessment of my work super-quickly?

If I can, I will! Get in touch by email to talk through the time frame you have in mind.

Do you offer bespoke packages combining more than one of your services?

Yes! Just reach out by email and let me know what it is you're after: lorajoneswriter@gmail.com.

When do I pay?

After an initial chat via email, which allows me to ensure I'm able to help with your specific writing needs - and allows you to be sure you're happy to move forward - I will issue you with an invoice. The full amount, agreed in advance, is payable before we start to work together.

How do I pay?

You can pay quickly, easily and securely by bank transfer or PayPal Invoice.

I'm on a tight budget, can you offer lower rates?

Keeping my rates as affordable as possible is extremely important to me, especially during the current economic climate, and given that many of my clients may not yet have made any money from their writing. For this reason, I ensure that my pricing is considerably lower than most other freelance editors or consultancies. However, if you are likely to still struggle with these costs, just drop me a line on lorajoneswriter@gmail.com and we can discuss how I might still be able to help.

Do you strictly time your phone and video calls?

In short, no! If we're deep in conversation about your writing and the time's creeping close to the end of our call, of course we will keep going. I'm not strict about this - as long as I have nothing else booked in I'm happy to continue talking until we've ironed out an issue or discussed a new idea.

Should the documents I send to you be formatted in a certain way?

Yes - I only accept Word documents (.doc or .docx). Preferably in the industry standard: 12pt text, 1.5 or double-spaced and typed in a sensible font(!) i.e. Calibri, Times New Roman, Arial, Garamond.
